A visit to Bhima-Koregaon, Pune to pay tribute to soldiers of Mahar Battalion who fought till the end and mark the victory against the Peshwai in India. 500 Untouchable Mahar Soldiers fought without food or water for more than 12 hours against a huge 28000 army of Peshwas. 22 soldiers lost their lives in this battle. British erected a pillar to mark pay tribute and mark the victory.
We group of people left to Koregao by bus. One the journey found many such buses like us waving panchasheel flags heading towards Koregaon on Mumbai-Pune Highway. Many cars, bikes to joined us on the road. On reaching there, saw a massive gathering of crowed who came to pay tribute to the soldiers. The place was totally jammed but tough managed by police.
